Released first in Japan (their promised land) and many months after in United States, “Brethren…” is an amazing concept album for the American primitive tribes, their wars against the European colonialists and a great perspective about the Indian way of thinking.
Besides this, “Brethren…” was a joking resemblance of the band’s status in the music industry… As Indians in a European world… Worthless to say that this album had the same luck with all the previous and next lps of the band, lacking any kind of professional promoting and commercial success.
Furthermore and contrary to other Riot’s albums that have won a respectable legacy throughout the years, “Brethren” remains almost completely unknown. Just like its Indian heroes.

Black Sabbath – The Acrobat Years (1970-78)

Sabbath-The Acrobat Years
As every genre has its pioneers, so metal does with Black Sabbath. Credited as “fathers” of heavy metal, Sabbath are still one of the main inspirations for thousand bands and dozens of styles and genres, from classic heavy metal to stoner and psych rock.
The band’s first period with Ozzy Osbourne on vocals was their most successful and the most inspirational one…. Based on these masterpieces, from 1970′ debut “Black Sabbath” album until 1975′ “Sabotage”, whole sub-genres of rock and metal were discovered and evolved (e.g. doom and stoner). (more…)

Igneous, explosive and reactive but still sensitive and finally introvert, a mad rocket flying to its own fiery galaxies, “Powertrip” wasn’t only another masterpiece from the heavy-psych giants, but also their commercial breakthrough.

PS: One of the albums that makes you realize that you’ve become old…(Two decades have already passed..!!!)

Who’s gonna teach you how to dance,
who’s gonna show you how to fly…

Praying Mantis – Time Tells No Lies (1981)

07. Beads of Ebony – 05:42 – MU
08. Flirting With Suicide – 05:04
09.  Children of the Earth – 05:37 – UMU

They could be in the top of the world. They became nothing in no time… The band never really managed to cope with the fail of “Time Tells…”, a fantastic melodic hard rock stunner.
Good albums and many great songs followed, but Mantis’ history remains a bitter reminiscent of the arrogance of music industries and their exploitation upon the bands.
Unfortunately, time said the biggest lie.
